Say you wanted to import some footage shot at 50fps into a 25p project.  Avid would automatically drop every other frame to keep things playing at the right speed.  This is great if you want cut something with sync but what if you want to utilise every frame to create a slow mo clip.

Hidden behind a console command is the way.

1. Open console in Avid (Tools -> Console or Ctrl+6)

2. Type ignoreqtrate true

3. Now when you import a file, it will interpret it to 1 frame for every frame.

NOTE: You need to turn this function off once you have finished using it by going back into console and typing ignoreqtrate false .

Hope that helps and have fun with those slo-mo’s!
